Departmental Mission
Our mission is to provide our students with education at international standards in the field of banking and finance. Our graduates will become financial market experts who are necessary for the development of financial institutions in the private sector and for the production of financial and monetary policies in public institutions such as the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank.
Departmental Facilities
The Faculty of Business and Economics has modern teaching facilities such as five computer labs and internet connections, which provide opportunities for our students to keep up to date with the latest developments in capital markets around the world. In addition, our students are provided with internship opportunities at the best financial institutes in the region. In the programs offered in the Department of Banking and Finance, opportunities such as "Foreign Students Club" are offered for foreign students, and thanks to these opportunities, students are able to interact with other students and organize cultural activities. In addition, there is also the "Economics and Finance Club", which is supervised by faculty members but whose activities are carried out by our students and allows our students to gain experience in financial markets. This club also organizes certificate programs with financial institutions in the industry.

Diversity in Education
Our department was accredited by the German FIBAA accreditation body in 2014 and proved to be competitive in the field of banking and finance. Our students have the chance to develop their written and oral communication skills and personal research skills. In addition, in many courses, the emphasis in course evaluation has been given to term projects, assignments, and practical application of knowledge and skills. We believe that this approach will give our students an advantage when they are looking for a job.
Achievements
Apart from its educational responsibilities, the Department of Banking and Finance also contributes to the recognition of the TRNC and the development of its economy in various ways. Our graduates have found jobs in very prestigious places around the world and thus contributed to the recognition of our country and our school. Our department has respected professors with international experience in teaching and research, who have consistently published in high-level journals in the field. The academic members of our department are the professors who publish the most not only in our country but also in our region. The Department of Banking and Finance collaborates with international institutes such as the Canadian Securities Institute, which awards certificates to students at an international level. In addition, our department has organized international conferences and seminars, and world-renowned professors from Harvard and New York State Universities have been invited to these events.

These are the indicators that prove that the programs of the Department of Banking and Finance provide quality education. Our department is also in regular contact with its graduates and we are very honored that they find a job within a year. It has become a tradition for banks in Turkey and Northern Cyprus to call us to recruit our graduates.
